Mountain West coaches back Boise State

During the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Championships in Las Vegas, a trio of coaches took the time to endorse Boise State as an NCAA Tournament team.

Steve Alford of New Mexico, Dave Rice of UNLV, and Steve Fisher of San Diego State all believe the Broncos should receive at at-large invite.

Along with Colorado State, the Lobos, Runnin’ Rebels and Aztecs are all likely headed to the NCAA Tournment as well.

Here is what the coaches had to say about Boise State:
“I don’t think Boise should be a bubble team. They should be in. Their body of work is good enough. What they did out of conference was good enough. Then in conference, if you look at what they did when they were healthy versus when they had some injuries, they were definitely the fifth best team in our league. Our league deserves that.” - Steve Alford, New Mexico head basketballĀ coach

“There’s no doubt Boise State should be in the NCAA Tournament. (The Mountain West) should have five teams in.” - Dave Rice, UNLV head basketball coach

“Boise State, without question, deserves to be in the NCAA Tournament. Look at their body of work, look at what they’ve done the last 10, 11 games. I think they were 7-3 coming into (Wednesday). They beat good teams. They beat good teams in nonconference. This league is so good, if Boise doesn’t get in the tournament, I’m going to demand a revote.” - Steve Fisher, San Diego State head basketball coach
