Broncos face turning point of season

The Boise State men’s basketball team is at the crossroad of their season: the start of Mountain West Conference play.  They can either go the way they went last year, a 3-11 conference record to end the season, or not.

But the latter won’t be easy, the 2013 version of the Mountain West is better than in years past.  Currently, there are six MWC teams with at least 12 wins, and four teams with 13 wins.  In the most recent polls, four teams are in or around the top 25, including Boise State’s opening opponent, No. 25 Wyoming.

The Broncos will be in for a challenge, but if all goes well, they could make it to the NCAA tourney in March.  National pundits are speculating that possibly six teams from the Mountain West could be invited to the tournament.

The Broncos face Wyoming in Laramie on Wednesday.
