Boise State holds tight at No. 27 in USA Today Coaches Poll
For the second straight week, the Boise State football team failed to move up in the USA Today Coaches Poll following a win.
After the Broncos’ beat BYU 7-6 on Thursday, they were slotted at No. 27 when the poll was released on Sunday. Boise State hauled in 69 points, one short of last week’s total.
The Broncos were ranked No. 22 in the preseason coaches poll and fell to No. 25 following their season-opening loss to then-No. 11 Michigan State. Boise State then dropped out of the top 25 after their bye three weeks ago, ending a run of 63 straight weeks as a ranked team.
No. 21 Oregon State, No. 24 Baylor and No. 25 Rutgers all make their first appearance in the top 25, while No. 25 Virginia Tech (tied with Rutgers with 98 points) returns after a loss to Pittsburgh two weeks ago that dropped them from No. 13 to No. 26.
