The Boise State football team had its fourth day of Fall practice on Tuesday. Once again, the veterans practiced in the morning, and the newcomers went in the afternoon.
As has been the case so far, the Broncos looked crisp and excited. Here are some of the highlights from Day 4 of camp:
— The wide receivers are looking like a solid bunch, as expected. Matt Miller and Kirby Moore stood out to me with a couple of impressive grabs.
— Freshman Sam Ukwuachu is looking athletic at defensive end. He had a nice bat down, and moved well on the line during practice.
— Tom Moore, father of Kellen and Kirby Moore was at the morning session watching the Broncos. He told me that Kellen is enjoying playing for the Detroit Lions, he likes his coaches, and really likes the other QBs on the team. One thing Kellen doesn’t like is the play book. The Lions gave him an iPad for a play book. It’s not his favorite because he can’t write notes on it, like the paper version he had at BSU.
— The play of the day came on a deflected ball that went high in the air. Tight end Holden Huff tried to knock it down amid a crowd of defenders, but the ball was snatched by defensive tackle Greg Grimes. I’m not sure if it was his first interception ever, but the big fella sure seemed happy.
Tomorrow, the Broncos will be in full pads, vets practicing with newcomers for the first time.
