Garsez named NAIA All-American, first Yote in 14 years
After leading The College of Idaho to the NAIA World Series for the first time in a decade last month, senior Izaac Garsez ended another long drought for the program on Monday.
The outfielder from Caldwell was named first team NAIA All-American, becoming the first Coyote baseball player to earn such honors since Levi Lacey did it in 1998.
Garsez - who was an NAIA All-American honorable mention last season as a junior - hit a team-best .389 with 29 stolen bases, eight homeruns and 75 runs scored this spring.
NOTE: Catcher Jarel Lewis was an NAIA All-American honorable mention. This spring the Capital High-grad ranked near the top of the nation with 24 doubles.
