College of Idaho baseball team to be honored by Governor Otter

The College of Idaho baseball team will be honored by Idaho Governor Butch Otter on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Statehouse.

This past Monday, the Coyotes upset 4th-ranked Azusa Pacific on the Cougars home field to clinch their first berth to the NAIA World Series since 2002.

On Wednesday, the team will head to Lewiston, Idaho, the site of the 2012 World Series. They open up the tournament by playing Point Park University at 9 a.m. (PT) at Harris Field.

The Coyotes are build almost exclusively on home-grown talent. Twenty of the 25 players on their roster are from Idaho, with a majority of them growing up between Nampa and Boise.

Otter received his B.A. in political science from the College of Idaho in 1967.
